The 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards premiered last night.  I have a confession, I didn’t watch.  I have discovered a new love in the form of a cartoon called Young Justice on Netflix, and between that and the Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion, I just didn’t care.  However, that didn’t stop me from having thoughts on the red carpet looks.  After all, isn’t that what the internet is for?  Giving us the opportunity to judge people we don’t know, at events we didn’t attend?  Let’s begin, shall we?

Loved Zendaya in this green Zuhair Murad dress. The 60’s hair, and soft makeup were perfect with the heavily embellished dress. She’s wearing Lesilla shoes, and I continue not to understand why people wear, or buy from them. They make knock offs that are basically as expensive as the designer shoe from which it was knocked. I have yet to see an original design on their website. I’m thinking maybe it’s a situation wherein you can’t find your size and/or color preference in the shoe you actually want, so you have to go with theirs.

I love how stylist Ade Samuel plays with volumes with Jhene Aiko’s. She creates an ideal balance in her looks, and because I live for a voluminous pant, these perfectly tailored DKNY trousers are a dream. Not too dressed up, not too dressed down.

I continue to stan for Yara Shahidi, and for Gucci. Put them both together, and I have passed out from fashion joy. This is such a fun, age appropriate look, especially for an awards show that doesn’t take itself so seriously.

Alexandra Daddario in Alberta Feretti gave us formal edge. The heavy eye makeup combined with the lace and demure neckline made the perfect combo of goth meets glam. Yes legs!

Yvonne Orji has quickly become one of my red carpet faves. This skin. Can we take a moment for this skin?!  I love that her style IRL isn’t a far cry from her character Molly’s style on Insecure which I am obsessed with. Olive green and gold is a winning combination, so I love that she anchored the look with a strappy metallic sandal.

Speaking of Insecure I loved this pleated and ruffled Off White dress on Issa Rae. However, I was very much focused on her hair and makeup which were adorbs.

Cara Delevigne never needs to grow her hair back as far as I’m concerned. She is rocking the hell out of this bald held. Is she giving Amber Rose a run for her money? No. No she isn’t, but I love the look on her. Cara has that same energy that Queen Rihanna has that enables them to look amazing in anything. Cara often wears thigh high boots, and I live every time, because she always wears them the right way. It helps that she’s 5’8 though for sure.
